Unexpected motlt- #2

Post by Ryanstein » Wed Jul 05, 2006 9:23 pm

Holy crow!

Buddy just molted! What on earth...?

Just shutting down for the night.. then saw buddy half buried with his exo! Still alive... he's OK. I hope E's can molt well; my last molt was with a PP, Spirit, and that came out OK. I just ISO' ed him. Hope this one comes out OK!

Will update tomorrow... need to go to bed right now (by parents order).

Congrats! Just let him eat his exo, and he will be back to normal soon. :)

He hasn't moved since last night, I guess he is just absolutely zonked from molting. I think it takes a lot of energy!

Quick question- how long do you think it will be before he starts eating his exo?

It really depends on the crab. He'll need to regain some strength first, but how long it'll take him to do so depends on how difficult and energy-consuming this particular molt was.

He molted sometime yesterday, but I'm not sure when.

I wouldn't be worried if it took him a few days to start eating it. also, once he starts eating, he might not finish the entire exo, leaving thick parts like the bp. Once he has eaten most of his exo and moved on to other food, I would crush up these thick part for him and sprinkle it over the food.

In my last molt, Spirit ate everything except for the BP. It mde sense, though, since the BP is very thick.

Exo's almost all gone! :D I woke this morning to find Buddy in a corner, sitting, and where he had been buried, just a few thick pieces of exo. I chrunched it up, and put it into the food dish. He is getting more active, and now, he looks almost like his old self. :D When should he go back to the rest f the hermy clan? :? His other (and only) E friend seems somewhat lonely. He hasn't moved much since I took Buddy out for the ISO three days ago. But I'm sure he'll perk up when Buddy comes back. :) They are the only two E's I have, and seem to be quite friendly to each other. :D
