Tonight it’s Tilapia and oysters (both cooked in extra virgin olive oil), cantaloupe, rolled oats and mango.

It’s been a week since I got my first crabs!

Today it’s eggshell, quinoa, apples, carrots, freeze-dried bloodworms, and honey.

What's on today's menu & recipe sharing

Ah! I love it! So many awesome ideas. I never considered cooking things specifically for them. Yes, that sounds a bit naive I suppose, but still- I didn’t. Mind. Blown.
So many amazing ideas, what a great thread- I have a fairly big variety of dried and freeze dried and plenty of the ‘normal’ fresh foods, but now? They’re gonna be some darn happy crabs. Well, Davedave will. Pat-pat is skittish, so I dunno what he eats other than having seen him after an apple with some honey once! That’s the only time he let himself get caught, is my best guess! Anyway- thank you everybody!!

Edited to answer the question! Ha!
Today they have (‘dry’ shell) lots of eggshell, coconut, a mix called cantaloupe berry that has a little from all food groups in it, chia seed, worm castings, dried bug bits, and peach chunks.
In the other (‘wet’ shell) they had (organic) apple peel w a little apple on it still, with goji powder on it (their purple has been so vibrant since I added that!) and some grapes cut in 1/4s, and Dave got a peanut butter and honey treat for being a good sport today. (Whole other topic there!)

I use a mix for them that they devour. It has protein and calcium. The amount are what I used for 2 crabs:

1/8 tsp raw organic quinoa
1/8 tsp raw organic Chia seed
1/8 tsp reptile calcium supplement
A bit of ground up cuttlebone
Eggshells sprinkled on top

Tonight for dinner(fruit and veggie bowl)
Blueberry
Grape
Romaine lettuce
Zucchini
Shredded coconut
A drizzle of honey

Protein and calcium dish:
Unseasoned beef
Quinoa
Eggshell
2 purple pinchers
1 old dog

I will miss you Lloyd! Good luck up In Hermie Heaven!

Tonight I made some chicken, along with their other stuff. I thought about serving it raw but I don't know if that is safe. I cooked it with evoo and Harry and Norbert have already eaten at least a quarter of it!

Tbh ~ I serve all meats raw. Like Soilentgringa always says ~ Nobody cooks for them in the wild My guys/gals don’t care for cooked meats. You just have to wash your hands

I had the same thinking about the meat- who cooks for them? Lol
It’s personal preference, I would assume, at the end of the day.
Today we have bloodworms, mealworms, greensand, a mix of a bunch of various stuff, (it says brussel sprouts chip mushroom, so can’t say other than some bugs, veggies, calcium of a sort I think, leaves and stuff!), hmm... oooh crushed cottonseed.
Fresh broccoli, red pepper, rainbow carrots, mushrooms, and some olive oil. Plus their calcium pit all the time. And catappa leaves they all seem to devour! (sp). Yep. Think that’s it today. Lol

*all organically sourced of course

Ah!! Knew I forgot something! Freeze dried shrimp too.

Today, they have a gourmet meal of calcium coated dried fruits, veggies, crickets, mealworms, and bloodworms on a bed of quinoa and kelp sprinkled with ground eggshells and a side of coconut and honey. Later tonight I will add some sort of fresh veggie or fruit.
