New crabs buried

Post by Crab-bag » Mon Jul 29, 2019 7:46 pm

Hey. On Friday I got my daughter 4 small hermit crabs. In less than a day, they all have buried themselves in the Eco Earth. One, we think and hope, has already changed shells. 10 gallon tank, temp around 78, humidity +-80, 6” of Eco Earth. I’m just wondering how long they will stay underground. I know from my research, before we got them, that it is a destressing thing but I’d also like the input from crab owners. We change the water, fresh and salt, and food everyday. Thanks for the help.

Welcome! They could be coming up at night to eat. If they're molting they could be under for months. Many months. Just keep feeding them.
