Lol
I have had pets in the past, but my family can’t have any furry or feathered ones due to allergies. I usually try my best to help and currently trying to set up a crabitat. I also try to treat others with Love!❤️

2 of mine are down under and have been molting for 2 weeks. i have 2 smalls and 2 teenys. or is it mini? whatever. they are the next size down, but one is about to get a little bit bigger after her molt! she is a violacen and is very shy. please send hopeful words because she was missing an entire leg, half a small claw and part of another leg. i hope she makes it...

They do not have a viola, it was a deeply colored purple pincher that gave the assumptions that it was one.

It's just a term for a purple pincher that has a lot of one color, some purple pinchers can be a dark red color, or even a purple color, while some may be lighter colored and pale.

mango has a pale BP and shadow has a very dark BP, while salsa has a blueish BP and acorn has a mix of blue and dark purple. strange.

What are your crabs up to?

Post by Overmountain1 » Tue May 07, 2019 11:12 pm

Hey everybody! Mine all came back out from a successful molt a few weeks back, and that wasn’t enough apparently so I had to buy some teenies. Like literally- aside from Mary’s babies- the smallest hermit crab I’ve ever seen! Tim is sooo tiny! Ok so since I’ve got better pics of everybody (almost?) now, this is as good a spot as any to share.
Image
Billy (we were gonna change the name but never came up with anything better so it stuck!) he lives in the wheel all day.
Image
Sam the small, who is missing a walking leg. He has been buried for a few days and I’m hoping it’s for a molt.
Image
Tiny Tim- nuff said!
Image
Tim again- so tiny!
Image
Ten- Ten is one of my very favorite crabs. He’s a unique looking PP.
Image
Dave- our remaining original crab. Also a favorite.
Image
MaggieMoo, just hanging around- looks like I still need more pics of her. Oh darn. Image
Image
Corn- still learning about this one
Image
Pop- I know how to tell them apart now, but with their similar sizes and shells I couldn’t for a while! So they’re Pop&Corn now lol
Image
And tonight, this is Corn. I think.

Lastly, while not a crab, it is where they will be going as soon as we can drill the hole for the drainage system. The tank and stand, made by us.
Image

Edit- I made that sound like I just buy crabs bc of their size, and while I can’t dispute the validity of the assumption, it truly isn’t the only reason. There were several factors and their circumstances were much less than ideal. They will have their own separate home in the 10 gallon for a while, til I feel better about putting them in with the others. Yes they’d *probably be fine, but since there’s no rush I won’t take the chance on it.
