Re: ALL THREE CRABS NOT NORMAL BEHAVIOR
Hi! I'll put my suggestions under your answers. Hope this helps! [emoji846] And just another question while thinking about it. I am moving soon and will be taking them with me. My plan was to take the whole tank as is and transport it since I have molters. Any advice on that? Sent from my Moto G (5...

Hi! I'll put my suggestions under your answers. Hope this helps! [emoji846] Thank you for the feedback! I will try to keep the temperature in the higher range and see if anything changes, the temperature never drops below 73 so hopefully that didn't cause any issues. And with regards to constant pr...

Re: Molting for four months?
Sorry, maybe I am not understanding. Is he under the sub still? Or is he on the surface? Its all good. He is like partially buried behind a rock. He would always go behind it to rest before, and now he hasnt moved in four months and you can still partially see the back of his shell above the sub :/...

Re: Molting for four months?
Back when he first went under I accidentally lifted the rock where he is at and saw a grey ashy mold of his body so I am assuming that was his exo

Molting for four months?
I have a medium ecuadorian crab that has been in the same spot behind a rock for almost four months now. I assumed he was molting but now I am worried. It does not smell, but the area he is in has shifted due to the other crabs moving and what not. Is he dead?

Crab laying next to assumed molter?
It has been about a month and a half since one of my crabs tucked itself behind a piece of wood and (hopefully) began to molt. Tonight I noticed that one of the other crabs was laying very closely to and basically touching the shell of the molter. I know where the molter dug is a pretty popular area...

Question about molting process
So I have had one successful molt and going through a second one right now, and I just had a question about how molting actually works. So I know that they shed their exo and eventually eat it, and this happens because they pull out of it and go back into the shell? Just curious to if they stay out ...

Re: Orange/Yellow material in front of molter's shell
It will look exactly like the crab did before molting as it's a perfect shed of their hard bits. Some crabs are lighter between their legs and on their carapace, so depending on the color, it could be the exo. Okay good to know. For some more context I only noticed this material in the last week or...

Worried about molter
My one crab, squirt, has been buried behind a rock for nearly a month now, and I assumed that he had begun to molt because when I was cleaning last month I shifted the rock and saw that he was immensely gray and ashy and partially hanging out of his shell. I gave it time and replaced the rock exactl...

Re: MOLTING OR DEAD
And just for background context too, both my other crabs have completely burrowed into the substrate multiple times since I have gotten them, but this crab that we believe to be molting has never completely burrowed down into the substrate. So I don't know if that plays a role in why he is positione...
