I live in Louisiana. Where blue crab is abundant and fairly easy to catch - which we do regularly. I was wondering if drying out the shell and crushing it like an egg shell would be good or bad? My husband doesn't think it seems like a good idea. Any input would be great appreciated! Thanks

It's fine. I'd boil or bake the exoskeleton first.

You don't have to dehydrate at all unless you just want to.

Afterwards - freeze the rest of it for later meals

Edit: If you don't dehydrate it
