My new hermit crab is blue?

Post by springfairy556 » Thu Mar 19, 2015 8:29 pm

I'm not sure if this is the right catagory or not.

Anyways, my sister came over to my house last night after she went to the fair, she asked if I still owned hermit crabs and I said yes.She handed me a box with a crab in it.She had won it in a game at the fair and she decided she didn't want him/her and gave him/her to me.
When I I took the crab out, I noticed she/he is a pale grey/blue color.None of my other crabs have ever turned that color, not even before a molt, and I have had many successful molts, in fact 2 of my crabs finished molting last month. What's wrong with this crab?

Sounds like an Ecuadorian crab. :) they are so goofy. If you post some pictures we can tell you for sure. I am gonna go ahead and move this thread to the new crabs and new crab owner section for you. :)

Yes, different species of crabs are different colors (red, violet, orange, black/dark purple and even blue etc) some pictures of your crab would help identify the species. There's probably nothing wrong with your crab at all :D
