I'm not sure if this is the right catagory or not.
Anyways, my sister came over to my house last night after she went to the fair, she asked if I still owned hermit crabs and I said yes.She handed me a box with a crab in it.She had won it in a game at the fair and she decided she didn't want him/her and gave him/her to me.
When I I took the crab out, I noticed she/he is a pale grey/blue color.None of my other crabs have ever turned that color, not even before a molt, and I have had many successful molts, in fact 2 of my crabs finished molting last month. What's wrong with this crab?
My new hermit crab is blue?

Sounds like an Ecuadorian crab.
they are so goofy. If you post some pictures we can tell you for sure. I am gonna go ahead and move this thread to the new crabs and new crab owner section for you.

Re: My new hermit crab is blue?
Yes, different species of crabs are different colors (red, violet, orange, black/dark purple and even blue etc) some pictures of your crab would help identify the species. There's probably nothing wrong with your crab at all

What they said. It may be an E or just a blue PP.
Pics will help.
