My first tank is starting to look decent!

I need to get bigger water dishes soon but here it is! I need to figure something out that works better than a zip tie chain for the fiber wall lol

You could try velcro to hold up the cocomat -- the wide velcro strips would probably work best as they'd grip the cocomat more securely.

It looks great so far! I like the crab sitting right in the middle of the tank in the picture. I agree with the velcro, it's what I use for the climbing fiber and just do a quick check to be able to replace it as soon as it needs it.

It would be so much easier that way. I don't want to make a second zip tie chain hahaha

Did you order your climbing net, and if so, how much was it? I reallyyy want one but there are other things higher on the crabby priority list right now haha.

looks great! If you don't have any luck with the coco mat, you could always replace it with a cork flat? I have used many of them and they are great for climbing and hiding and they don't mold :)

I got the net for pretty cheap on etsy! I can't remember who was selling it but they seemed to be into crabbing too so I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone here haha. I don't remember the price but I would like to say it was like 7-10 dollars. Or at least close to that (:

Thanks! I've seen some on etsy but was hoping to find some of the smaller ones for $5-ish or so, especially since there's shipping involved too (not that their crafty-work isn't worth what they're charging-- I'm just broke, lol. And we need shells badly so that's top of the priority list right now Image).

The net I have is the large size that the seller has and it's actually a lot bigger than I had expected. I was able to find the page on etsy for you though! CamillesChoice is where I got my net which is size large and If I remember correctly it was only 6 dollars. The Medium sized one is 4 dollars I think...
But as for shells? I haven't shopped around too much for them but the ones I got in a pack from the hermitcrabpatch are pretty nice and I think they weren't too expensive. Like 10 dollars maybe?

Awesome, thank you so much! I looked her up and I had apparently favorited one of her nets at some point already, lol. Image The prices are excellent! I admit I didn't do much looking before asking about yours. I was just going off what I'd noticed while searching through general crab supplies.
I'd forgotten about the Hermit Crab Patch-- I'll definitely look there! I found a seller on etsy with some shells that were reasonable-- and they're kinda different than our others which is great, too. I only ordered them yesterday so I'm not sure I'll get what I asked for, but they listed the shell size as well as the opening measurements so im hoping they're good for it, haha. I'm excited about these..
Polka-dots! lol ImageImage

Those are some cool looking shells!
And it's okay if you didn't really look much before asking lol I do it all the time! I'm just glad I could help you find some reasonably priced goods for your little pals :D

try Richards sea shells. I get most of my shells from him. He has spotted Turbos as well, but they are a bit cheaper.

I actually have a cart going at Richard's now! I stopped ordering and decided to get an idea of how many sizes I had and which ones I needed before ordering more, haha. I saw they were at Richard's, too. Image I had already placed the Etsy order, though Image lol
