Are the bulk shells at Michaels just a mix? Are there turbos in there?

I have ordered 2 small packs of shells from the hermitcrabpatch and was not disappointed. You might like that site :)
I'll check it out!

Lol they think im weird when I tell my crabs calm down, im almost done
whenever I mess with their tank or feed them, all they ever do is either hide in their shell or kick it in full speed reverse lol. I think it's so funny when they high-tail it outta there cause they'll usually "run" backwards until they hit something and then turn to book it for the hermit hut. By the way, the hermit hut is very accurately displayed with a sign that reads "I'm crabby" hahaha
I do love a pun. Image

Hanging out on the screen ceiling in the 20g. Which is a problem because that tank has a sliding lid, so once again I can't open it to feed them! And there's smelly raw fish I want to take out, lol. Sigh!

Jack has some pretty good climbing skills! Climbed up the smooth part of the pole on the "shelf" second level & was hanging out while letting me observe. ImageImage

Isn't it funny how we provide all these great climbing structures and they pick the least likely and hardest things to climb! LOL.

Last night I found the salt pool half emptied! I only ever see my guys dipping their toes in fresh water, rarely salt. And that pool is a heavy reptile rock pool with the basin part sunk into the sand, so there is no way it tipped over. I wonder what they did?! Thank goodness it's a small pool; the sub was wet through underneath but held up fine under the "finger hole test".

@hprmom my Jack has been hanging out in the freshwater too!
And my sub under the water bowls has been damp as well...maybe the condensation from the bowls? I still have the small ceramic type as I can't change things around for bigger bowls yet due to a molter down who knows where!!

Found Mike the other night very carefully trying to climb down from the shell shack via an aquarium plant which is hung directly above the SW pool. He started out great, got about 1/3rd of the way down, then lost his grip!! Lol! High dive into the SW pool! :hlol:

So surprisingly I found my Captain out & about at 3:30 in the afternoon!!! Usually he's active around 6-6:30 for the night...then again not sure what he considers "bedtime". He wasn't out this morning, instead bedded under his food dish.
Unusual for a hermie to be out in the afternoon? Tank conditions are pretty good. And he seemed to be really curious while I was cleaning/restocking food & water.

One of mine likes to be out both day and night. A second one just recently started doing the same. It seems like it's just their preference and personalities! Kooky critters! :D

Hello, fairly new to crabbing but here is some of mine! All pp's.

Horrible pic but this is Shelldon (lol)
He is my very favorite crab!!

My little climber

Newbie (meanie) name unknown

Something bugging me... I woke up this morning after purchasing a new crab last night and all the crabs were cuddled behind the waterfall in the moss except the newbie. Which is very unusual as they rarely leave the hollow cork log (pictured). I think he ran them all off Image
Should i take him back?
I have put another home in their cage but i dont want them kicked out of the log, my little climber would be devastated Image
Also i have 3 crabbies buried...
Im scared the new guy will harrass them as ive never been through a molt yet. Substrate is 6 in. Thank you in advance!!!!!
