Upgrading tank a couple of questions

Just received a 20 long for my crabs. Was wondering a couple of things, how would I go about disinfecting it because the tank had a gecko in it. Also most of my crabs have been down since we got them, which has only been a few weeks or so, I have no idea if they are destressing or molting. Im picking up new eco earth and sand in the next few days so Im wondering how Im going to move them to the new tank once I get it ready. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can clean it out with diluted white vinegar (50/50) or if you're very worried you can safely use bleach diluted 10 parts water to 1 part bleach. Rinse well and dry completely.

I would wait until the crabs resurface to move them over.

Thanks for the info. My problem is that I have too many crabs in the tank that they are in. I have eight small crabs in a ten gallon. Didn't realize I had too many when I set it up. Its been a long time since we had hermit crabs.

Set up the 20 long transfered the three that were up into it, will transfer the rest when the surface.
