Those are all great foods! Just try to make sure they are also offered an animal protein each day. A tiny piece of unseasoned meat from your dinner would work fine either cooked or raw.

ok. Thanks for telling me, but the items on the list were just what they liked the most. They are offered: raisons, apples, string beans, carrots, omega one shrimp, almonds and coconut.

I am not a seafood, or for that matter a cooking, person.

How the heck does one get oysters open? Can I just hit it with a hammer already!? I cut myself twice. (Fricken crabs had better like this bivalve ick. )

Also, I know humans shouldnt eat open clams, but can crabs? Will that bacteria harm them? Or make the tank dangerously unsanitary for necessary human handling?

Some nut/seed mix soaked in coconut water (I opened a coconut for the first time ever, and it was, like, slimey. Somehow I did not expect that. I used a hammer. I like hammers as all-purpose tools.)

I just finished my food stock for a while! Homemade dehydrated fruits and veggies mix. And different grains, seeds and nuts. I make up three different mixes I cycle through so my crabbies get variety! I also add dried seafood and other proteins and powders to the foods.

What a great idea... this is such a fun forum.... I just joined, but I'm going back through the weeks & there are so many fun ideas.

Freeze-dried bloodworms, diced strawberries + strawberry top, chopped carrots, and cuttlebone.

As I was down to the dregs of my home-made base dry mix, I decided to concoct a new recipe: freeze-dried mealworms and shrimp (ground with mortar and pestle to a chunky powder), flax meal, powdered cuttlebone, crushed eggshells, chia seeds, 6-grain flakes and salmon dog food (crushed kibble). Charles Paris is the only crab up so he'll get to try it tonight.

Today they're having a blend of oats, sea salt, freeze dried crickets, freeze dried river shrimp, freeze dried crickets, non instant white rice, and a bit of blended dried apple and strawberry.

An occasional "salad" I make using what I have on hand: this time it's plain oats, ground flax seeds, freeze-dried bloodworms, diced grape, celery tops, powdered cuttlebone, drizzled with honey. Hopefully they like this one.

I made a hermie omelet!
I mixed two eggs, using one of the egg's eggshell in it, with celery tops, apple chunks, oats, and mealworms. They came out of hiding to pick at it within 10 minutes of me putting it in the tank, so I think they like it.

Egg shell, organic coconut shavings (which blend in with the egg shells) and chicken. I went to the store today and asked for seafood scraps and got a deal! I can't wait for them to try everything. They were just rescued a couple days ago so idk if they are eating anything I give them.
