65G Build for 3 Es - Back in the Game!
Hey all!
The TL;DR is I'm back after a ~14 mo. hiatus, due to moving and rehoming my hermits at the end of 2015. With many of my brand-new-at-this experiences out of the way, I look forward to fewer (or at least different!) mistakes as I take on the build I always wanted back then!
(My username before was mariilene; this is a new account.)
I don't have anything to show yet, but I've finished my notes, drawings, and lists of my ideas and will begin shopping riiiiiiight now! I have technically purchased a tank and stand, which my boyfriend will bring home and set up for me tomorrow. Over the next several weeks I'll be meticulously building a false bottom, decorative structures, designing features, growing chia plants, and more! When I'm happy with it and have plants and isopods established, I'll find some Es to make it home and promptly destroy everything. Looking forward to it!
Basically, I wanted to go ahead and get a build thread started for myself, even though I have nothing to show yet.
Thanks for reading!

I am doing the same thing! I have a 80 gal tank all empty but I'm buying things slowly to start filling it up. I already have a 40 gal with 4 hermies in it and a 5 gal I had to set up for 2 emergency rescues to establish in. So excited to see how your tank comes out! Hopefully I can steal some ideas from your thread as well!!! Good luck!

Thanks kaleighshermies! That's awesome! Big builds are so fun! And I hope y'all can, but most of my ideas are from the forums as it is!

Re: 65G Build for 3 Es - Back in the Game!
Just a little update!
I has the tank! The stand didn't fit in the car, so BF will borrow his mom's SUV tomorrow to pick it up, then on payday I'll be in business for the false bottom!
As for the tank and stand: I got a brand new combo deal for $212 at a local Petsmart and love it. Came with the hood and glass lids. I personally love full hood lighting for hermits, so I'm thrilled it was included and the basic light source has been handled. The space it's sitting in is its permanent location. I won't be able to open the stand up against the couch, so that will be more long term storage or for pumps to hide, etc. Directly on the other side of the wall (it's right at a corner) is a coat closet that will be my primary storage for the hermit supplies. Food, waters, etc.
More pics tomorrow when it's on the stand!

Thanks!! Yeah, I love new tanks! So happy I got one for this. I feel guilty knowing I'm going to scratch it with sand.

Tank and stand, ready to go! I also changed the location to my dining room, rather than crammed in the living room.
The little line at the bottom is approximately where I anticipate my false bottom ending, and then I think I made the rest pretty clear.
So exciting! I'll be starting the false bottom in 2 or 3 days.
