Post by crabfan3567 » Mon Jan 16, 2017 9:09 pm

I got a new pp hermit crab who has white lines on the top of his big claw. Is that normal or not?

A pic would help. Without the background info, it just could be his colouration or just the setae being white dots, along the claw rid they normally close togethor so it may look like a white line.

Hiding is normal for them, they are prey animals. It's really hard to say without seeing a picture. If you have a smartphone, download the app called Tapatalk, take a picture, and it's really easy to send. You just hit the plus sign next to the message and attach it

Or if you prefer not to use your smartphone, just use an image sharing site and copy the URL here.
