what do people think of this tank?

I think the 40g should fit on the coffee table I'm using as a stand. If so I should definitely get the 40 over the 20 right? :D

Does anyone know what glass lid will work on this tank?

This tank is known as a 40 breeder. I personally wouldn't spend that much on just a tank. Have you tried LetGo, OfferUp or CraigsList? A lot of times you can get a bigger tank and accessories cheaper than what this tank is listed for... Just saying there are other options. If you do decide to get the 40B, I had mine sitting in a long dresser. So a coffee table should work depending on the size and the material. Tank will weigh a ton once properly set up.

Edit- my 40B had a wire top with packing tape sticky side out to trap heat/humidity.

I have a 40g that I got for my corn snake during petco's dollar per gallon sale. I think they usually do them two or three times a year, and I would definitely recommend waiting or checking Craigslist, depending on when you need the tank. :)

As for the lid, wire lids work well, and I always just put plastic wrap or tin foil over mine, just make sure you have an open spot so there's some ventilation. I'm currently using a fish tank lid that just has some tape over the part where the filter would go.

I agree with not paying full price. Definitely try to find one online or off of an app. Bookoo is another option. The great thing about those options is usually the tank is pretty much put together except for substrate. Search for tank, aquarium, reptile. It doesn't have to hold water :) Good luck!

Ditto re checking craigslist. Look for listings for "terrariums" as most of those tanks will come with a mesh lid.
PPs are Big Enzo, Charles Paris and Mr Pinch
On the Big Beach in the Sky: Murray, Gino, Oscar, Gordon, Ignatz, Harry and King Felix the Pale
Also Mom to Imogene the Syrian Hamster

It's slim pickings where I live but I may have found one!
So terrariums are ok?
I read they are sometimes not strong enough for all the substrate.
I emailed to ask dimensions. How does it look?

Yes, I'm glad I caught it before you edited! It was funny! :) I think the tank you found is a 10 gallon. Isn't that what you already have?

Yeah it is.
It looks bigger to me than the one I have but hard to tell scale in the pic.
I'll see what he says about size.

It looks bigger than a 10g to me, but I'm awful at guessing size. If it is a 10g, isn't that a bit expensive? Not sure about your area, but around here a brand new 10g from petco/petsmart is $15 or so... but that's without a lid, maybe he has extra stuff included.
