Re: 120 gal setup
Daws..I saw a tank like this by me for sale! I couldn't believe it, it was a smaller one than yours. I've never seen a tank like this before.
Truly blessed to have incredible creatures, wonderful friends and my amazing family in my life!! I'm very thankful & grateful for all of them! www.thehealthyhermit.com

Yeah me either so I just had to have it! What size was it? Maybe he made more of them and they never really took off.GotButterflies wrote:Daws..I saw a tank like this by me for sale! I couldn't believe it, it was a smaller one than yours. I've never seen a tank like this before.

I actually believe that!... She gave me a tote full of stuff. All the WRONG stuff I must say! Over 70 shells but only 20 of them usable/preferred. All food/water was from petsmart. No marine grade salt. Food/water bowls too shallow. Also had 3 heaters by zoomed. And can't tell you if she had gauges or not. They've been living like this for a few years. This maybe why I lost the other E. Her tank set-up looked nice tho.aussieJJDude wrote:Quite the opposite, green and blue colour in E's can be a sign of an improper and imbalanced diet. I can't exactly remember what mineral, protein or vitamin lacks to cause the colour, but I have it somewhere at home. I'm really glad she reached out to me for a better home. So far everyone has adjusted well but won't really know til after they molt with me.
Edit: not trying to talk bad about her, just venting. I've seen waayyyy worse tho so I have to give her a little credit.

I've seen small E's that were lime green in places and blue.
Two of my E's have had blue coloration; they were given to me as a gift because of the blue. They've molted many times and grown to over twice the size they were when I got them and they still have that bluish tinge on their legs.
So yes, definitely share the source for that info.

Re: 120 gal setup
Looks as though you're correct however, this guy isn't that young. In a way, I believe aussiejj about improper nutrition but I can't actually prove it.... The other E that I lost was half his size (smaller) and all tan.PinchersAndShells wrote:Must've been a misinterpretation on my end. http://hermitcrabassociation.com/phpBB/ ... hp?t=92454

Did you say you live in FLORIDA?daws409 wrote:Okay guys, I have some bad news. One of my Es didn't make it. It's not the one previously pictured (Rainbow). It was the one who was all tan and healthier looking compared to Rainbow (sorry guys never did get a pic of him)... I'm kind of in shock. This is the third crab I've lost since I began little over 6 years ago. (First two were close to the beginning.) I don't know what happened. He just became sluggish and eventually passed on the 28th. I waited til today just to be sure. Again, this was one of the 11 that I adopted on the 19th. In a way I believe it was stress from the lady driving 3 hrs to get to me in not so great conditions...
What am I supposed to do?? The other has no buddy and I can't find any Es locally. I've heard they are some in nearby states, but I don't wanna buy. I would rather adopt.
