First Molter!

Post by Penguin619 » Wed Mar 22, 2017 12:07 pm

We adopted 6 crabs in December in a 55gal. You all have been such a big help btw! The first one went down right after Christmas and then over two months they all went down... for the last few weeks we've only had pet sand. I was starting to get pretty worried because we used to occasionally see them up against the glass but hadn't for a week or so. Anyway, last night I was doing my normal routine of changing out the untouched food and topping of the water when I noticed one hanging out in the corner! It was the first guy who went down. I was home alone and felt silly for jumping around by myself lol! I now feel more hopeful for the others!

Congratulations! The first time is the hardest! They should all start popping up soon! Best moment in crabbing is that relief!

It was definitely relief! I guess I never expected them to all go down at once. I just kept trying to reassure myself that their conditions are good and kept reading posts on here about other people's worries to not feel alone in my own. I never thought I would get so attached/obsessed with these little creatures!
