I made a water thing UPDATED

Post by ErikRasmussen » Tue Apr 25, 2017 6:16 pm

Okay, I have been really attached to my current pools since I made them. They are glass bowls with rocks siliconed to them, the ones in all my photos. But I have been having to refill them about half way every two days because as soon as Thing 1 submerges he displaces a lot of water since he is so big. And it doesn't help that the Es actually splash. So I need deeper pools.

The last time I had a deep pool it was a half gallon cube with a few different ramp styles in one. The ramp that was a piece of plexiglass with needlepoint canvas zip tied around it left an E swimming in the water without a shell (although that E is probably just crazy(he is fine btw)). So I have been hesitant about deeper pools. But I need them and if I am eventually getting exotics I will need them. So I created this...

Ideally this will give them all a way to climb out or ease their way in while still being deep enough for all of them to submerge. As soon as Stitch comes up from her molt I will replace them

Cool! I have smaller pools than that but I wish mine looked like yours!

Thanks guys! It took so much silicone. But its great because to clean them I can just slip them and put them back in.

Haha yeah it is! I siliconed some plexi glass to it and had to test it out a bunch of times to make sure each side could hold water. Got the critter carrier at a thrift shop

Plexiglass will lose it bond quicky with silicone... So don't be surprised if it leaks in a few months time.

So AussieJJDude is saying that It would just be the divider that would eventually leak - right? Maybe you could do 2 individual kk if I'm interpreting it correctly....the rock structures are great on the canvas!
