New Crab Person!
Hi everyone! I'm kind of new, but I've done alot of research on Hermies! I'm going to be getting hermit crabs very soon! (waiting to find out about tanks and such) One of my friends might be giving me a 15 gallon, so I was wondering how many crabs it could hold. I was planning on getting 2, because I read that 2 need 10 gallons so it would give them some extra space. Anyways, Hello and thanks!

Re: New Crab Person!
Welcome to the HCA!
I personally recommend 1 small/medium crab per 5 gallons. (10 gallon tank minimum size tank) Hermit crabs do grow Also, considering that they need a freshwater pool, a marine saltwater pool, lots of shells, deep substrate, things to climb, things to hide in, you will always want a bigger tank

Id stick with two, addition of more crabs will ultimately means that you need to upgrade faster! But congrats for doing research prior!

I agree - two is best! It's easy to get really addicted with them though!!
