What can I put in my vivarium?

This is where you discuss the conditions of your crabitat -- temperature, humidity, substrate, decorating, etc.

What can I put in my vivarium?

Post by platypuskid2 » Wed Jan 10, 2018 7:31 pm

Image now that my last red claw crab has died, my vivarium is desolate despite the last remaining black tetra and gold inca snail. The tank is 20 gallons with around 5 gallons of freshwater in the aquarium half and the other side filled with play sand. What animal could I possibly house in here? Are there any crab species that would survive in here well or possibly something else like a salamander.

Maybe you could add a snail or two? I am not smart when it comes to aquatic aquarium.
One or hopefully two Clypeatus
Goodbye my little E. See you soon.

I think if you alter it a little bit it could 've suitable for a tree frog

Tree frogs need much more height than land

Yes, this might be better suited for something like firebellied toads.

I was thinking about that too but wasn't sure of their requirements.

If your willing to go brackish, maybe a mudskipper - would love to have one eventually...

Other suitable animals could be newts/salamanders?

I've been doing some research and it seems that tree frogs, salamanders, or newts would do well with some minor tweaking. I've ruled out the tree frogs because the tank is in my bedroom and I'm not nocturnal. I'm thinking either a tiger salamander or a crested newt
