Not sure tank size yet...
I’ll probably go to petco in Farragut. They always have good crabs.

Great pics everyone! I love seeing everyone's hermits!!! :cloud9:

@aslansgirl89 and @Giner13 ~ I just wanted to recommend that you increase your substrate depth. The HCA recommends a minimum of 6" or three times the height of your largest crab (whichever is deeper wins). Substrate should be mixed with dechlorinated marine saltwater or dechlorinated fresh water. This minimum should be throughout the entire tank, and then if you want to make height differences you can. Molting space is extremely important for crabbies. I know it takes away from your height, but hermits love to dig too, so you are adding to their options that way :)
Truly blessed to have incredible creatures, wonderful friends and my amazing family in my life!! I'm very thankful & grateful for all of them! www.thehealthyhermit.com

Thanks for letting me know! I am pretty sure that I took those pictures before I added a little more substrate. I know that I need to add a little more water to it but I have an indecisive molter that sneaks out at night and randomly every now and then and I don't want to bother her so I might just grab her the next time I see her coming up for food and water and do it.

I came home from dinner last night, and five of my crabs were lined up across the front of the tank.
When I saw it, I called it a crabbie party!

Sonny's up from his molt already. I heard Cher moving around under the sub last night, so am glad she's alive down there. It's funny how much longer she always takes to molt, since she's so much smaller.

I had a moment with one of my crabs last night. He ran up and stared scratching on the glass. I approached the tank to see what he was doing and, amazingly, he didn't run off to hide from me. He stayed in the same position, showing me his belly (confirming that he is a boy) and slowly running his claw up and down the glass. I talked to him for a little bit and only after I told him that I'd be home soon did he turn and walk away. O.O

I never thought he'd ever be that friendly to me.

Peanut came up from his molt and took on a full food dish. It's almost empty now. I take it he really liked that new mix I made. :P He also switched shells. *cue dance music* Work it, Peanut.
