I struck a gold mine!

Post by piratetoothgir » Mon Jun 25, 2018 9:14 pm

I went to PetCo tonight, and went in wanting a school of fish and some filtration media, but my list quickly changed. They had something I just couldn’t pass up.

I got some E’s!

I am very happy right now! I know these guys need a minimum 12 inches of substrate, lots of proteins, and ten gallons per E. I will add my final inch of EE this fall.

I am deeply in love, and this time they won’t die because of my mistakes!

That's how I felt when I found mine. Of course I very quickly found out that I needed to give them. A better home and adopted them out.

I remember, and too bad you didn’t get to keep them.
Let’s just hope these guys pick a different shell! I have a babylonia that would be great to give my larger E.

They get some dinner tonight, it’s not much.
Tomorrow, I will feast them real good, I hope they like their new home!

Thanks! It means a lot from all these people, this moment is very special to me. The smaller E spent 20 minutes underwater in the msw, which I felt so sorry for him because he didn’t have access to that at the store.

My biggest surprise was that there was a jumbo E for sale at PetCo, and I wanted to take him, but he would’ve outgrown my tank soon enough. I cannot wait to see what these guys bring me, and how well I can do with them.

I haven’t checked, they were too anxious last night.
Look what I did this morning, I took out the shell caddy.

I think it looks really good, and it’s easier to reach.

I forgot to mention, but I truly forgot how active and fast these guys are! I stick my hand in to do some quick work, and the E will scurry away instead of just pulling into their shell.

very nice! thats where i got my 2 E's from was my local petco. love the PP's because of their color, but the E's never cease to amaze me. last night, i found one all the way up one of the fake plants, just relaxing there looking like those little big eyed spider pics haha.

One of my largest PP’s went up to the basket, and took a carved dolphin turbo. He only wore it for a few minutes, before switching back to original shell.
