The ridges actually provide enough traction that none of my crabs had any problems cranking that thing like they were on a treadmill.

The quality isn't the greatest but here's a silly video of two my crabs fighting over the hamster wheel. It's not how they normally use it but this video will give you an idea of how the unmodded wheel would act.

I added the mesh to it since 2 of my crabs are already pretty big. they love it! i FINALLY saw one walking on it last night, it was so awesome!

Wheels or spinners are a must have! It usually takes them a few days to find the wheel. When they do, you can't keep them off. I found that whoever you show videos to are completely in awe that hermit crabs actually use wheels!

I'm still in awe and about half my crabs use it. Sometimes round the clock.

Lol is it bad that I don't want to add mesh because I like seeing my crabs take turns. :anon:

As I mentioned in another thread, my crabs wouldn't go near the wheel when I first added it. I eventually got tired of waiting and put one on there myself. Most have scared the poor thing but they learned what it did and haven't stopped spinning since.

I'm not sure if this will work because I have no idea how YouTube works, but here's a video of one of mine on the wheel! He gets on it every single night but he never lets me record him. Well the other night he was facing away from me and I snuck in a video! So excited!! Let me know if it doesn't work. I have it on Instagram but idk how to link that either Image
