New UTH - IDK How to use it...

Post by wrswrs2 » Tue Oct 30, 2018 9:19 pm

So I upgraded my 3 crabs, Santiago, Dot & Pearl, to a new tank which is a 20 tall.
I got a new under tank heater, which came today, it was this one...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pet-Reptile-He ... 2749.l2649

But, I don't know how to use it or attach it to the tank! It says it will adhere, but there isn't a sticky part at all.
I contacted the seller but all the said was that they would refund the item if I shipped it back. I want to use it, but how can I safely adhere it to the tank if there isn't a sticky side?
Help!!

Maybe there is a film covering the sticky that’s hard to get off and you can’t see it? I used gorilla tape for my ultratherm and others use duct tape around the edges.

I’m not familiar with that particular one, it looks similar to one of mine. You can use any kind of tape to tape it to the back or side, wherever you are putting it. I used masking tape with my first one because it’s all I had but then switched to clear packing tape.

It's a similar design to Ultratherms and Flukers, you can using packing tape or aluminum duct tape to secure it.

Thank you!

And I’m assuming to just tape around it on the plastic parts?

Yes you are right, around the edges on the plastic parts.

I don’t like this heater. It doesn’t all stick to the tank, so it doesn’t touch the tank and it only keeps it at 70, which is not warm enough!

This is the same problem I’m having. I insulated it to and still can’t get it above 70f.
