It is recommended that you have at least 2 or 3 Ecuadorians, even though my E used to do fine..
One or hopefully two Clypeatus
Goodbye my little E. See you soon.
Bye Fred. You lasted almost 4 years with me. Hope you're with my E now! See you soon Reeba as well. I can't believe I lost you only after a month.

Thanks. I just adopted one today, now if the other E would come out from wherever it went for the last week they could meet.

I always recommend keeping exotic species with another one of their kind, even if you say they appear to be happy. They will be fine without a species buddy, but it is generally and best recommended that you do keep at least two exotic species together

IMO it is more important that you have the space for them.
Es do not handle overcrowding as well as PPs do.
For Es to thrive without issues, I personally recommend the following for Es:
At least 10 gallons PER E,
10"-12" of substrate for Es
At least 2 proteins and lots of calcium choices for Es.
By following these protocols, I have never had issues with my Es.
It is recommended to have at least ONE species buddy for each species.

I understand, I was just sharing my experience. If I were to add another E, my tank would have been overcrowdedodelayheehoo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 16, 2019 5:04 pmI always recommend keeping exotic species with another one of their kind, even if you say they appear to be happy.
