I wasn't sure where to put this but are Cavipe crabs really a thing? Or are they trying to upsell an Equadorian?

Purchasing has been disabled for about a year now. If you follow through to checkout it won't let you finish.

Cavipes are an actual species, but they rarely come up. Mostly the occasional crab in Europe. I had someone send me photos once several years of crabs I was convinced were cavipe, but they never responded as to where the crabs were located.

The one in the photo is a Ruggie. Real cavipe have a slightly different eye shape, along with being super hairy and an odd shiny raspberry-brown type colour, like they were wood stained.

Honestly, I wouldn't buy online at all. I have no desire to get exotics unless I find them in a home that is worse than the one I could offer. Then I would try to help them the best I could, like I did with my E.
