:crabbigsmile: Hi I'm new to hermit crabs and I have a few questions.
1. I am looking for ways to save money on hermit crabs,PLEASE share ways!!!
2. I will be getting my first 3 hermit crabs off of Craigslist, I will (hopefully) be starting off my colony in a 20 gallon long. Is this good for 3 small\medium crabbies?? :|
3. The Crabs are in really bad conditions in the add, Would I use the PPDS method??

Welcome! For decorations, you could find safe wood in your backyard. Make sure no pesticides or spray has ever been used on the wood, and also bake or boil before adding into your enclosure. Please do not buy online. Especially from Craigslist. Your hermit crabs will most likely die while shipping or die soon after arriving because of stress.

I think you misunderstood me I meant to say that I was rescuing crabs from Craigslist, I would NEVER buy hermit crabs online!!!!

The number one way to save money is not to buy anything with a photo of a hermit crab (or says hermit crab) on it.

I've already done soooooooo much reaserch on hermit crab care!!! But there can never be to much reaserch on hermit crabs!!☺☺☺

Thanks me and my mom where looking at hermit crab supplies and she was like "what about this hermit crab sand, it says its for hermit crabs" and I am like NOOOOO that will kill them :crabbigsmile:

You can get plastic plants at the dollar store. And plastic containers for the pools. Make sure they have plenty of calcium and protein. Honey is a great energy food. And welcome!

Check dollar stores for decor, etc.
Hardware store for play sand.
Crabs can eat many of the same foods that we eat - as long as no additives, preservatives, etc.

The HCA does not have a PPSD method. If you are getting three crabs at the same time, you can put them into a tank with proper conditions right away.
