Snake shed?

Post by FJrocks003 » Sat Jan 30, 2021 11:04 am

I've been looking for some ways to add some calcium to my crabs diet and thanks to my snakes I have a large amount of shed skin just laying around. I already feed it to my isopods for calcium so I was wondering if the crabs can eat it too.

I believe other crabbers on here feed their crabs snake skin. As long as your snake isn't on any internal/external meds, I would think the crabbies would enjoy it.

Yes, I think it should be safe. As long as the substrate is not unsafe wood, maybe? And also as long as you don't use chemicals or any sort of medications on the snake. Or give it any medications. Also crabs do enjoy snake shed.

Snake skin is not calcium, it's keratin.

Is it still good for them, Wode...the keratin? My crabs love their snake skin!
