Just thought I would share :)

Post by crabs_lex » Wed Feb 17, 2021 9:24 am

Hey guys!
My crab coconut who i’ve have for almost a year had FINALLY changed out of his colored shell! He is the only crab i’ve had that took longer than a week to switch out of a colored shell. So this was really a big moment for us LOL
Image
sorry it’s not the best pic. coconut is such an active crab and doesn’t stay put anywhere so was lucky enough to snag him for a quick picture. lucky for me he’s in a green turbo ... just like half of my other crabs. but coconut has vet unique coloring compared to my other crabs. he is a very light purple on his pincher which is quite beautiful. all of my other crabs are a way more darker purple. but his light color is unable to be seen in the picture.

Strangely enough females in my experience change shells more regularly than males. It’s the same with humans.
9 PPs in a 125 G Terrarium since August 2020: Sebastian (F) - 2 Molts, Midnight (F) - 2 Molts, Red (M) - 2 Molts, Jello (F) - 3 Molts, Ninja (M) - 1 Molt, Shelly (M) - 1 Molt, Tiny (?) - 3 Molts, & Dot (?) - 1 Molt

I never knew humans changed shells! I guess that observation is true, cause as a guy, I can confirm. I don't change shells! :hlol: :hlol: :hlol:

I thought it was understood that shells are comparable to styles of clothing.
