New Crabs

Hello. We recently in purchased two crabs from a gift shop. After getting them home, we researched and now have them in an appropriate crabitat. Conditions are good...75-80 percent humidity and temp, two water bowls, food bowl, play sand/coconut substrate 4+ inches , moss pit to climb to and one on ground. They were nervous and stayed in the moss at first, then started venturing out at night. Now one (Coral) has been in the same place in the moss for almost a week. I've checked on her during the night and have seen no movement. The other was still active, but is coming out less now for the past two days. I'm concerned that the first one may be dying and now the second one is possibly losing its desire to be active as well. Do I check on the first one, leave it, get a 3rd? (I put a food bowl up by her. She did eat some that night, but I've noticed nothing since. ) I know I should not have three crabs in a ten gallon tank. I don't want to move crab one to terrify her more, but I am starting to be concerned about crab 2 now (Hermie).

I have one crab in a ten gallon tank i am getting two more soon. When i first got my hermies one passed away (rip kelpcake). My bubbles was extremely inactive and didn't go in any water bowls and didn't eat anything at all. after a couple weeks he ventured out and did a molt he is fine now he is eating and drinking. I would leave the crab is the moss alone. I hope i this helped a bit. Good luck! :O

Thank you for the advice. Coral ventured out last night and even changed shells! I can't believe she is alive! I have a feeling crab ownership will be all about waiting and watching. You definitely learn patience.
