Leaving Crabs On Vacation. Need Advice.
I'll be going out of state soon and I have no idea what to do with the crabs. Is it possible to leave them for a week?
I've researched reptile feeders and water dispensers.

They’ll be fine for a week. Do your water dishes really evaporate fast enough to necessitate a water dispenser?

Like Joe says, if I didn't have someone I could completely trust, I'd make sure the food and water are fresh and changed just before you go and maybe have someone just check up on temperature/humidity once or twice.
That's what I do with my fish. I change water just before I go and they're good to go for a week to 10days. I'd rather have no food added than a catastrophe.

Two 29gals. 3 PPs in each.
~200gal of fish tanks. Mostly planted community tanks.

There are a couple people here I know of that have left food for a week with no problems. Just make sure you put out only dry foods. You will come back to some moldy food, but it won't hurt the crabs.
Also, I only change my pools once/week anyway, unless they get really poopy/sandy.

In pre-covid times, we used to go away for a week at a time, three or four times a year. The longest was ten days. I always left dry food and filled up the pools (sometimes added an extra pool because mine aren't huge). The food is moldy when I get back, but there has never been a problem.

Not usually, but sometimes they'll get really thirsty, and suck up all the fresh and saltwater.JoeHermits wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 5:43 pmThey’ll be fine for a week. Do your water dishes really evaporate fast enough to necessitate a water dispenser?

When I used a small terrarium (not sure of the size. Maybe 3 gallons?), I used to have problems sometimes with the crab digging around and tossing coconut fiber substrate into the water dishes, and most of the water would then wick out of the dish. That was my main worry, when leaving home for a week or more. When I upgraded to a 10 gal tank and larger water dishes, with dishes supported on slabs (so that the crab can't turn them over by digging under them etc.), that pretty much solved the problem (and now I have a 20 gal and one of the dishes is 9+ inches but that is probably overkill).
