What plants/climbing objects should i use for my crabitat??
Helloo i'm a fairly new owner and new to this site, but it's proven very helpful , so i thought this would be the place to ask for advice. I was looking to improve my crabitat by giving my crabbys a few new things to climb on since they only have two pieces of drift wood lent up against the walls and a little wooden tree. I only have a 10gal tank atm (which i will probably upgrade in the future) for my two small crabs, so what plants/climbing decorations would y'all recomend?? Also sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot I wasn't sure

Sometimes the crabs can be a bit different in where they prefer to hang from one individual to another, but the items that I have I will list and how often they tend to use it.
Big plastic plant- They are in love with this thing despite having so many other things. They climb to the top of the enclosure on it, hide in it, and just about anywhere else on it they’ll be staying all day.
Half coconut shells- They tend to not use them as much but one is in one of them right now and they do enjoy them. Sometimes they’ll even climb over them just for fun!
Hanging coconut- It has a little ladder that you can hang on the lid of the tank, and they love climbing the ladder, on the sides and top of it, and inside of it, absolutely obsessed.
Cholla wood- They absolutely love to climb on it and hide in it, and they’ll even eat it! It’s where they spend most of they’re time.
Walmart also has a ton of fish hide/decorations/fake plants that they love! I also found a log that has various dried vegetables and fruits and coconut inside of it for birds but they absolutely love it! It is also enrichment because they have to climb it and find the holes and pull the food out!
I got all of my items at Petco/Walmart and Amazon is always a viable source. For a smaller item to put in, they are strangely fascinated with cockle shells. I strongly advise for fake plants. If you want to know the exact thing (the name, what it looks like, and where I got it) please let me know!

Thankyou this is super helpful, I wasnt sure whether fake or real plants were better. It'd be great to know what the name of yours is! Just to get some idea of what to look at. The bird log is so smart i'm def gonna look into that.Maple_Stylus wrote: ↑Sat Apr 09, 2022 11:19 amSometimes the crabs can be a bit different in where they prefer to hang from one individual to another, but the items that I have I will list and how often they tend to use it.

Also are cockle shells just from the beach fine?
Thanks so much for your help

My kids have bucket loads of Legos. My boys have built lego climb on with hidy spots for our hermit crabs. If you've got the room in your tank, the sky is the limit in terms of hermit safe wood, plastic, etc..
Two 29gals. 3 PPs in each.
~200gal of fish tanks. Mostly planted community tanks.
Multiple kiddos, doggies and kitties.
