Bread ties

Post by Sweet_Dee29 » Tue May 24, 2022 11:12 am

Has anyone ever used bread ties in their crab tanks? I need something to hold my crab's mesh up in their pools.
I normally use zip ties but dont have any on hand right now. I'm looking for a substitute.

I would say that they won't hold up for too long in the heat and humidity. The paper or plastic coating will either turn to mush or crabs will pick at it, and the metal will eventually rust.
You could probably get away with using them short-term, until you can get zip ties later.

I have used bread ties before, but only where the crabs couldn’t reach them. They handled the heat and humidity okay but of course I think mine were plastic-coated.
