You should definitely look for aquariums, lid for them, and stands! It doesn't matter if they leak water, you are putting substrate in them, you can probably find a really good deal on and upgrade!

It's how I catch behavior changes, get to know their personalities, and watch for signs of agression! It lets me know if they like a certain food more then others, or if they are needing something that I notice they seem to be lacking by watching them!

I'm glad you like them! Sometimes the pools go so fast I have a hard keeping up with making them. I'll be making more medium pools (that have a rose gold colored trim) this weekend. ImageImage

You don't have to use eco earth if you don't want to - people can use all eco earth, all play sand, or a mix of the two in any ratio. The 5 to 1 ratio was made up by someone at one time, it has no scientific backing.
You don't have to use dechlorinated water for cleaning.
Safe temp for PPs is 72 and above, but as mentioned they will be more active closer to 80.

Ofc you don't have to use EE, it's just very commonly used and is a good way to make ur sub deeper without buying more sand (which can be very heavy and hard to get home). You don't have to use dechlorinated water for cleaning it's just my preference! Everyone has their own styles of crabbing and we all do things a little differently, it's just good to provide people with different options, because it can be very overwhelming being a new crabber!

I feel that giving you direct options instead of being like, "you can buy them on Amazon and get them at Walmart", definitely makes it easier and less overwhelming! And if you don't like the suggestions you can look for things like them in stores or online and find what you want!

Crabs love to try new foods, and will like some foods more then others, so I feel that starting with a protein pack and letting them try different ones also gives you a starting point to knowing their food preferences! Like I learned the other day that my crabs go CRAZY for popcorn, and LOVE the honey bunny food mix from CrabPax, so I will definitely be ordering more of it, and I might even sprinkle some of the mix on the popcorn! They are going to be in crabbie food heaven! 😂

Oh yes! I think it's the ultimate snack food for crabs. I use white popcorn kernels I bought in a big jar, and pop them on the stove in olive oil for them. They love it.

What about store bought popcorn? Smart food? (stupid questions probably) Would it be better if I buy the kernels themselves or get already made popcorn? I'm not sure what foods are okay for crabs and what foods aren't, store bought food and scraps seems dangerous but I'm very very new!
