Climbing the lid
Climbing the lid
I have a mesh lid covered with seran wrap. One of my crabs has figured out a way to get to the top of the tank even though the decorations dont really reach that high and I dont think he knows how to get down. I dont want to open the top of the tank because I am scared he'll retract into his shell and fall. Do I just let him figure this out or is there something I can do?

Re: Climbing the lid
Sometimes crabs have been known to climb the silicone that holds the tank together in the corners!

Re: Climbing the lid
One of my crabs, Kraig, has also mysterious found his way to the lib. I have no clue how he got up there. I have had both of mine for 4 years and Kraig is known to be adventurous so I decided to leave him alone. Four hours later he was still crawling around upside down so I decided to place a towel below him in case he fell and grab him from the lib. He put up a fight, but he is now back on the ground and his behavior is normal again. I have never seen this happen before, but after reading many other posts about this same thing my anxiety subsided.
