will another death cause you to give up?

My sister loves crabs too, but gave up keeping them. At first she never listened to any of my advice (not that I value my own advice so highly, but she had no access to the internet and believed the petstore clerks nonsense as the gospel truth). Then her last two hermit crabs fell ill and she became desperate for information, but we couldn't save them. She gave up on crabkeeping and it makes me sad that just when she started to care enough to do it right, she was too upset by the loss to go on. I don't want that to happen to you no matter what the outcome of this experience will be. Anyone who loses sleep over a crab has the makings of a great crabkeeper!

Thank you again. Yes I have lost a lot of sleep ... I love my crab and all animals. My mother always told me that was the native american in me. Oddly enough both babies and all animals love me. Not sure what it is but i am not complaining. I love animals...in this day and age it is one of the only true souces of unconditional love is from animals.

My Henry died sometime today while I was at work. I came home and he was naked and stretched out. I loved him so much and I will miss him. Thank you everyone for your help.

I am so sorry to hear your crab passed away. I can only hope you dont give up on keeping hermit crabs, you sound like you really love and care for them.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I lost one of the first crabs I ever had about a year ago from unknown causes, and I almost stopped crabbing then. but I continued and, although the thought of him still hurts emotionally, its dulls a bit, and having more crabs helps that. each crab is so different, you'll never have another Henry, but you'll discover new friends. I have lost six crabs, and its always hard. I hope you feel better soon.

So sorry to hear about Henry...I'm preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best with Larry here.

I too hope that you'll continue with this, but I'll understand either way.

Take care...and again so sorry about Henry.

bummer. I wish it had worked out differently. Definitely give crabbing another chance--when you feel ready, we'll be here for you.
