Tap Water?

Would it be okay if you just took tap water and left it in the sun for 15 minutes to get rid of the chlorine, or are there other harmful materials in it?

I don't think 15 minutes would be long enough to really do anything. I've heard of some people leave water out for 24 hours and then using it for their animals and such. There are other things in the water besides the chlorine. I would just use the tap water conditioner to be on the safe side.

Or you could just buy some distilled or spring water they're not very expensive. :)

Letting water sit for 24 hours or using plain dechlorinators will only remove chlorine, and does not remove the more harmful chloramines and heavy metal ions. That's why a tap water conditioner must be used.
