Live plants in a Crabitat? New to the forums..

Greetings! This is my first post of the forums, and my wife & I have been enjoying crabbing for just about a month now. We started with 2 little PPs from a mall as a gift = ( and went to a full blown 10-gal tank with everything they need from deep substrate, lots of humidity, and proper food and lighting. We now have 2 other PPs, and one jumbo we rescued from PetSmart, missing the bottom parts of all his feet....

We'd like to look at live plants for the crabitat - are they safe for our little guys!?!?! Logically, whatever makes them feel more like they are home is a plus, but do any of you have any experience?

people have tried live plants in the past, but found that it was very messy, if you found a hermit safe plant and anchored it down good, I don;t see why you couldn't try

There should be a list of hermie safe plants on the bar over there under the Crab Care FAQ -------->

From what I understand, store bought plants often have fertilizers that aren't hermie friendly, but with 4 weeks of cycling they should be ready (Or so I've heard.)
Personally, I'm growing some wheat grass seeds I got from my Grandma this weekend in a small box shower caddie.

I'm also fairly certain that they shred them to bits. So if you do get plants, hermit safe ones that you aren't going to miss are a pretty fun thing for them.

There are lots of different plants safe for the crabitat, but you may want to keep them in pots or other containers in it. They will take over! One easy thing to do is get some organic bird seed and plant it
