I did a search and only made it so far before I gave up, I don't know if it's just my lack of knowledge or if everyone has this problem, but when I do a search and look at a thread I have to start my search over to view another thread.
Anyway, I need to find a new crabitat asap. I have my crabs moved to a temporary ghetto-tat because I realized my big guys really needed more then 4 inches of substrate and my current 29 gallon wasn't roomy enough for that. I have found a 120 gallon Acrylic aquarium that is 48" long x 24" wide and 24" high, which is perfect in terms of size, I'm just worried about it being Acrylic so I'm holding off on buying it.
Any advices would be greatly appreciated.

Acrylic aquariums are safe, but with the sand we usually use for substrate they get scratched easily.
Another concern with acrylic is that its not as good at holding in humidity. But if you got a good tank with a good hood it is possible to make it work very well.
Hope i answered your question. GL and keep us posted!

I know this is to late but I thought I would offer my experience.
My experience was very different. My large 60 gallon acrylic aquarium held heat and humidity and lighting was no problem. Also the noise of the shells smacking the walls was more muffled. I switched it to a longer 55g glass tank and am thinking of trading back.
The cons are the ease of scratching and the only suction cups that work are heavy duty ones for showers.
nora :)
