Where can I find some hibiscus and dandelion blossoms??? That sounds interesting and different.MudCrabDude wrote:I got mine some hibiscus and dandelion blossoms, taking a cue from NarNar's pictorial yesterday, as of this posting.
I soaked them in warm water prior to feeding to get rid of some grit and bugs (and make sure that your sources are pesticide free). My C. brevimanus eagerly gorged on them for an hour last night.
What's on today's menu & recipe sharing ~2011~

A crab trail mix i made out of fruits and veggies (crabs LOVE this)

Hmm, would grilled hot dogs (unseasoned) be safe for them?

I'm really a novice at this, but I think if the hot dogs had salt or preservatives in them (sulphites, maybe?), then your crabbies cannot eat them.so101isfun wrote: Hmm, would grilled hot dogs (unseasoned) be safe for them?

I'm getting a little frustrated...my E's just don't have much of an appetite lately unless it's coconut, popcorn, strawberries...
Last night was:
freeze dried shrimp (I think they ate some)
banana
fresh apricot
cooked carrot
My E's are kind of like a five year-old who exists on a diet of hot dogs, apples, and frozen waffles.

They pulled the flakes all over the crabitat. But it looks like they mostly enjoyed the bit of banana I gave them. I love the Island Vanilla....without milk. Never tried it with the crabs though. I also have Kashi's Honey Sunshine.zippity wrote: Heh heh, I bet they snarked it...
