I found this info on the hamster hideout forum about avocado and why it's considered unsafe:

Avocados are avoided because they contain persin (Wiki link). So exactly why certain foods are dangerous to feed depends on the food itself and it's hard to put a blanket statement on why some are safe and some aren't.

Just remember that what is unsafe for one species isn't inherently toxic to another. (Dogs and cats will be poisoned from eating grapes - yet humans and rodents have no issues eating them. All are mammals, but the species and their diets are so different that what is good for one is deadly for the other.) I think one important thing to keep in mind also is that avocado is native to Compresses' home turf, so it's not like it's foreign to them.

Personally, I've fed avocado many times to both my Es and PPs when I make home-made guacamole. I'm not sure that the plain meat has ever been touched when served by itself, but throw a skin in the tank and it'll be scraped clean by morning!

Yes, this is for all species of hermit crabs.

Never knew you could give them unseasoned chicked bones so i decided to give them one. should i only do this occasionally due to the fat? also is the marrow the only part they should really eat?

I'm pretty sure cashews are fine just be sure to pick up unsalted ones.

Peaches are safe, but the sugar isn't good for them.

ya i bought freeze dried strawberries and peaches, but the peaches have sugar added to it, which i didn't realize when i bought it...

Are the leaves and stems of the wild strawberry plant safe? I ask because I have a ton of wild strawberry plants and in the fall they will be long done producing berries.

By the way, I have also fed my crabs avacado and two of them loved it, the other two weren't fans of it apparently.
