Almost forgot! I threw in some cooked venison, too. :P Yum.

Tonight is a Hide & Seek feast! I have food in multiple small shells tucked all over tat for them to find. I usually put out 2 dishes, but tonight I have 5, 2 with HCP foods, 1 with another fresh acorn, carrots, sweet pepper, one with coconut milk, and one with a fresh hunk of coconut! Since I spread them all out so much want to see if there is any more activity as they move around and find new things. I use to do this with my big parrots and it helped so they didn't get board.
Happy owner of 10 pp's, 7 E's, 2 straws, 1 ruggie, 2 viola's, 2 dogs, to many kids to count and one awesome hubby

Tonight the hermies are having a mussel (boiled in saltwater), mashed papaya, blackberry, rose petals, and a sprinkling of kelp powder. :D

They also have a big chunk of young coconut that they've been nibbling on.

Mine are having baby spring mix, raw shrimp, a walnut and a couple raisins.

I bought them a coconut, but haven't opened it up yet. I want them to eat the meat and then we'll have the shells to use for hiding spots. :D That is the ultimate in recycling!

How come you boiled the mussel? Is that something that should be done for all seafood, or is it personal (or crab) preference? I got some fresh shrimp (with shells and tails on) today and put one in raw for them to eat.

It's more of a personal preference. :) I do feed them raw meats here and there, but sometimes they drag their meats out of the food dish, and I feel more comfortable if it's been cooked. This particular mussel was pre-frozen, so it was only boiled for a few seconds to get it to thaw out. I'm not even sure if it's cooked all the way!

Tonight's dinner:

Baked organic chicken, dark meat w/cracked bone
brown rice
steamed organic spinach
baked rutabagas

Crabs loved it, so did my husband! The rutabagas especially were popular with the PPs; several were sharing the dish, stuffing their mouths... The E's didn't touch it, but they were all hungover from their digfest yesterday afternoon.

PUMPKIN!

The clan had a big piece of pumpkin today because I was dehydrating the rest for the autumn collection at Kilimanjaro's Kibbles. :D
