4th successful straw molt!

Post by throttlemom » Sun Feb 19, 2012 9:35 pm

Huraay! So as some of you may remember, we brought home 4 small straws two weeks before Christmas. the fourth molter came up just now. Steve, the most recent emergence, I think pulled a back to back molt. He was down for three weeks and then up for four days and then down again for about 4 weeks. And boy did he grow!
:cheer:
Bumblebee and Godzilla were the welcoming committee. Carl is napping. the little pp's are napping too and of course one of them, Ron, went down yesterday after he switched shells. hopefully a quick molt (he was the one in that odd mutated murex).

Again I can't thank you all enough, I can't imagine having this kind of success without your very helpful forum!
Pics to come tomorrow! hopefully he'll ditch the painted shell for one of the gorgeous natural ones I bought.

Yay :D I don't think he would (or could) pull a back to back molt, it just takes too much energy and unless they're horribly injured won't molt soon after just molting :P He might of just been having alone time down there. Congrats on the molting! Will be waiting for pics ;)

My 7yr old son's fingers holding the crabbies so I can play photographer. So we are now missing one little pp, Ron who has changed shells and gone missing somewhere...
