A non-nocturnal strawberry?

Post by Rocky » Sun Apr 15, 2012 6:44 pm

Hi all, I was just wondering if any other strawberry owners have noticed this.
My Strawberry Betelgeuse came up from his molt in March, and he had been up all night every night for a few weeks, he was so active!
But for about a week now I haven't seen him out at nighttime at all, instead, he gets up around noon and putters around in broad daylight until I turn the lights off!
I haven't changed the day/night schedule at all, I try to keep it at a very tight 12 hour schedule. However the temperature at night was a little sketchy for a couple days because my heater broke, thats when he stopped coming out at night. Does anyone think that might be it? :?
As always, I appreciate your guys's help :) Thank you!

If the behavior change aligns with your heat issue then I'd bet that is the case. My straws are sometimes out during the day, but more likely at night. On of my smaller guys was out today about mid-afternoon.

Cool! I wonder if it's just a strawberry type behavior :) It's been over a week since my heat problems, but he's still out all day every day.

I dunno...but I feel across all the species I own, some crabs just have different habits. I also have noticed that they'll go through phases of activity; day vs night, active vs not very active, etc. : ) Right now, my tank is pretty dead, while a week ago there would have been 6 or 7 running around at this time! lol.

I love it when I see them during the day though, and don't have to stay up just to see them. ^_^ I hope he keeps it up!
