So, a few days ago I noticed Dwible, my newest and smallest hermit crab, digging alot. He picked himself out a corner, and before I knew it he buried himself underground. Since he's at the edge of the tank, I have a small view of him through the glass. Not long after this, though, Dweeble decided to go underground as well, not that far from Dwible. Dweeble also made his place near the tank's edge, so I have a limited view of him against the glass too. So that one edge of the tanks now has 2 out of 3 hermits buried under.
From what I've seen, Dwible is definitely molting right now, but I'm not sure about Dweeble. I haven't had them for a long time, and this would be the first time any of them molt in my care. So do hermits bury and molt close together like this often or at all, or could something else be happening? I hoping that I'm worried for nothing.

Synchronized molting?
Proud owner of two precious PPs: Dweeble and Dwable.
Re: Synchronized molting?
it's very common, and it might just be the "good" side that they both want to go down in.

The same exact thing is happening to me! 2 out of 3 went down its beena atleast 4 days now but I've read a lot they may be destressing or molting but I can't see mine. Good luck to us both lol
