Wandering crab
Ok so today I notice my smallest crab wandering around during the day. I am just wondering if it is normal for these nocturnal creatures to roam around during the day. He wasn't digging or anything, just sitting there, then move to another spot and just sit. He did this for about an hour. He did take a drink, maybe thats all he wanted.... Just thought I would ask.

Re: Wandering crab
I have one small one, Buttons, who sneaks out during the day for a drink. No one else does it, she ususally goes right back to sleep afterward.

Mine do that all the time. Sometimes they're out so much during the day that they're too tired to come out at night.

Re: Wandering crab
I was just nervous I guess... Found one dead last night, two days after finding her big purple claw laying in the sand

It's always scary when you see them doing something odd.
My condolences for your loss.

Re: Wandering crab
Most of my small PPs are active during the day. I don't get to see them do much but they do move from spot to spot, branch to branch.
Currently the caretaker for:
Six hermies in 37G bow front, and two more in a ten-gallon tank.
I build websites, and blog about ebooks.

Re: Wandering crab
That's a good sign of a happy crab in a happy tank I think My largest crab was (molting right now) more a day crab than a night crab. George is more a night crab, and the E's are just constant 24 hrs a day.
So sorry for your loss
