Even though she does ship with heating packs, LHC does not guarantee LIVE delivery in the cold months.
HCP's last day of shipping is this Wednesday I believe and they are no longer accepting crab orders.

You are so right this is the biggest problem I have with them nobody takes your money until your items are ready to ship I had placed and order for over 200.00 with shipping and it was out of my bank in a hot minute. If I did not ask for a refund I would still be sitting here with no crabs and and them spending my money. I really wonder if it is even legal to do this even if it is legal it is really a bad way to run a business.queenie wrote:I can't speak to the supplier issues or the communication issues but I order stuff all day long from all manner of suppliers and I have never heard of a business that charges your credit card before they are ready to ship. I mean, nobody does this. Every reputable business holds your order, then charges your credit card when the order is ready to ship or upon shipment.
I don't think they are bad people just not doing a great job running this business.

I bought my crabs back in early July for $160! I just asked for a refund myself. This is kinda ridiculous.

Re: LiveHermitCrabs.com
Hey guys. I've been lurking on this post for a while since I also ordered crabs back in July. I got an email this morning from lhc. Which is funny as last night I decided that I was going to cancel my order. But now I don't know if I should still go ahead and cancel or wait a possible two months again
"Hi! Sorry for the delay.. We just received the flight info on shipment. It will arrive in NY on Saturday. We do need to allow them to de-stress before shipping. If a customer wants them shipped immediately, we wl do so but this will void the guarantee and we do NOT recommend doing this for the safety of the crabs.
Thank you,
Live Hermit Crabs"

Re: LiveHermitCrabs.com
when I emailed her for a refund this is what I got as a response:
Hi. I got your email. My supplier sent me my flight number. They will arrive in NY on Saturday. He is emailing today or tomorrow (I think it's 1am there) with a list of his stock. If blues aren't available I could either refund you for the blues or issue a full refund.

Darn. She said they were coming yesterday. I was hoping for an answer on the blues. She gave you a different answer about them than she gave me, Parrothead.

I got a email from her today:
They will be here Saturday. We will start shipping in 1-2 weeks depending on the stress level. We will be shipping on Monday's and Tuesday's and will ship in the order the order they were received.
Thank you,

After all this I really hope everyone gets their crabs alive and well!! I can't wait to see all the pics. if it were me, I'd order some H.Miles to be here the week my crabs showed up and keep them in iso with the pred mites for a month.

Re: LiveHermitCrabs.com
Probably a good idea all around. I imagine they will still be going out faster than normal, so I hope the stress level isn't too bad. I'm still clinging to hope I might get my blues. Thanks for all the updates to the thread. It's been the best form of patchwork communication about this whole situation!kuza wrote:After all this I really hope everyone gets their crabs alive and well!!
