I also wanted to share with everyone my molting powder recipe. I keep this available to my crabs on a daily basis, as it is extremely healthy. It has TONS of calcium which is great for crabs before and after molts to help with the formation of a healthy & strong exoskeleton. My first ingredient is Sand dollars; I get them untreated on Etsy from a seller who gathers them on a beach in Maine. They are greyish in color & I specifically request that she does not "treat" them. Here is the link for the store I get them from https://www.etsy.com/shop/UniqueDesignsByTara. Next ingredient is egg shells that have been cleaned off with dechlorinated water. Lastly, I purchase cuttlebone at any pet store or amazon *usually can find it in the bird section. So take equal parts sand dollar, cuttle bone, and egg shells and mash them up with a mortar & pestle aka mashing bowl/masher. The crabs will love it and you will love them enjoying heaps of it :) Here is a picture of mine

I feed my guys around 8 pm before I put my kids to bed and settle in for the night. That way it is fresh during their most active times. Last night they had, banana and mango baby food, multi grain cheerios, cuttlebone powder, honey, and an organic fruit salad of watermelon, cherry and grape. Then a few walnuts. Tonight I plan to give them coconut milk, egg with shell, baby food, carrot, cuttlebone and probably some broccoli or blueberry. It takes longer to feed them than it does to feed my kids. lol

I'm a new hermit crab foster caregiver (yesterday evening I found a pet hermit crab dumped outside my condo).

Last night I gave him store bought food and some banana. I won't be giving him store bought food again, but he loved the banana.

Tonight I gave him carrots, dried shredded coconut, and tuna. I'm getting lots of ideas here for meal planning.

I gave the crabs some sashimi last night, and it went FAST! They dragged it out of the bowl, little hoarders! :)

My own dried blend made of 6 different fruits, 4 different veggies, oatmeal and spirulina (the fruits and veggies change whenever I make a new batch depending on what I have on hand). HCP Mineral blend, bee pollen and pumpkin spinach baby food. Not pictured I also have a good sized chunk of coconut and walnut bark.
