Hello,
First off I'd like to mention that crabs need treated water. Even if they liked the non treated better, the things in non treated water are very harmful to crabs. A water conditioner that removes chlorine and neutralizes ammonia is a must.
Could you fill out this template, it would help us see if anything is wrong that might be affecting your crabs viewtopic.php?f=27&t=46102
If you fill that out it would help tremendously :)

-The hermit crab food isn't safe for crabs, it's better to use unseasoned meats, fruits and veggies. They can pretty much eat what we can minus the seasonings and butter. You can read more about safe foods here viewforum.php?f=25
-How deep is the substrate and what does the heat and humidity read normally?
-You could probably get some more shells, 5 isn't a lot for 3 crabs to choose from.
I'm not sure why your crabs have died, but I hope your others do well :)
