Ok. Update. I finished sorting through the sand and found 2 of the 3 missing crabs. One of which was freshky molted. Unless Dionysus got himself thrown into the bin with the sand. AGAIN or someone is hiding in the shell shop I will have another dead crab. I found an empty shell under the Acropolis which is right next to the shell shop. They bury shells all the time so I figured that was what it was. It is not a shell I have seen anybody wear EVER but I don't know for sure. I need to recount the ones in the bin because they moved so much I might have missed someone. I have my 10gal iso up and going again. Almost a full gallon of dfw to get it sand castle consistency. It was completely bone dry. Like I told megmaholm a little bit ago, 3 divots, 3 crabs with exo, 3 covers and both waters. I even put a food bowl in for when they start to emerge. I still have the rest of the 125 to deal with. I'm only doing the minimum tonight. Fix pools, put sand back and add hermits. Possible some plants to hide. Baking cork and everything tomorrow so it isn't going back in right away.

Are they glass panes siliconed in or small aquariums placed in the tank? If they are aquariums, be sure to level the tank so that the structural integrity of the pools can be maximized. Could cause a leaking issue as well!

I hope you find the last crab in the bin or shell shop! Sounds like the molters are all set up, you'll have to let us know how they do with the rest of the process. Good luck getting things set back up! And give your crew a stern lecture on leaving filters ALONE.

It's him. It's always him. Jockey can't keep his claws off of anything! This pic is from awhile back. Still the same jerk. Lol

Update: I found the last crab. Managed to get scooped into the sand bin. Was angry but fine. All are accounted for. I have my pools up and functional again and all my sand in. I have them in their bin on top of the tank. I needed a break. I want to officially size them all and take pictures to update my log. They will be fine in their bin plus I just put a big bowl of food in for now. Final count - lost 3, 3 freshly molted in iso and 29 healthy (yet cranky) crabs in a bin. I boiled the shells from the 3 that died. My house smelled like cooked crab...made me feel sick to my stomach.

Ongoing process...Baking first piece of cork now and oiled the shells that I boiled after the deaths. They look so pretty. I am about to measure and photograph the crabs for ID and my log. I'm going to behave for once and leave my iso crabs alone....checking to see if anyone is up (through the glass late at night) and misting as needed. I will NOT touch the hides!!!!!

You have got to be kidding me...the tank is empty of decor. I am measuring and everything one at a time before putting them in the tank. I just saw this. Image
